A great chance to hear from a legend
British mountaineer Sir Chris Bonington will be telling us about his ‘life and times’ at the Assembly Hall Theatre in January. His career has included 19 expeditions to the Himalayas, including four to Mount Everest and the first ascent of the south face of Annapurna).

Sir Chris Bonington began climbing at the age of 16 and is renowned for having made many first ascents in the Alps and all the greater ranges of the world.Chris was the first mountaineer on the lecture circuit but it has been 20 years since he last toured regularly. He will be presenting a 'life and times' audio visual account, covering his 60 years spent in the mountains. With original images and raw footage, this is a rare opportunity to hear about some of the greatest expeditions of the twentieth century.
