Now celebrating a year in the town, the restaurant has already notched up a number of milestones including selling 85,000 kg of beef.

The restaurant says, ‘We’ve enjoyed a brilliant first year in Tunbridge Wells and we have been overwhelmed by the positive reception we have received from the local community. Highlights for me have been the introduction of weekend brunch and Sunday lunches and let’s not forget our epic New Year’s Eve party!’

If you are looking for something special, then Cau is ideal. The décor is modern, yet comfortable and welcoming. The food is delicious and the service, very friendly. You feel like you have been to a luxury restaurant, without having to pay exorbitant prices.

This is an up-market restautant with up-market food. A coal fired oven forms the centre piece of the kitchen and you can see the food preparation.

The CAU menu changes with the seasons, but classic steak highlights include a Tira de Ancho, the king of steaks; a spiral cut of rib eye, marinated in chimichurri and grilled slowly for maximum tenderness and the Lomito, a fillet of rump which is considered the finest cut in Argentina, combining the flavour of rump and the tenderness of fillet.

The premium items are just part of an accessible all day menu that includes breakfast with an Argentinian twist (Latin eggs – grilled avocado, poached eggs on a muffin with a drizzle of chimichurri or pancakes with dulce de leche) and a knock out Sunday roast.
