Run or dye!
Run or Dye, the world’s most colourful 5 km run will be coming to Kent on Saturday 5 July for colour filled fun in the grounds of Penshurst Place.
Hundreds have already entered into the Penshurst Place run, with all participants encouraged to get head to toe covered in colour, before running, jogging or walking to the finish line.

The 14th century Manor House and its gardens have been used as a location for several film and television shoots. The 48 acres of grounds majestically surrounding the house consist of the arboretum, trout lakes, lake park and Lancup Well, among an abundance of flowers, plants and trees. The Sidney family has owned Penshurst Place since 1552 and will welcome participants of all ages and abilities, taking part in the most colourful event the estate has ever seen.
Ben Thomas, general manager of Penshurst Place Estate, said: ‘We are thrilled to be hosting the Run or Dye event. It will be an exciting addition to our full calendar of events this year and the route through the historic parkland and woods, with the stunning backdrop of Penshurst Place itself, will be a wonderful kaleidoscope of colour. I encourage everyone to sign up, regardless of age or ability, and be a part of the rainbow!’
Inspired by the ancient Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the ‘Festival of Colours’, Run or Dye gives runners, walkers and all speeds in-between, the opportunity to experience and celebrate in full colour the thrill of the festival and introduce the idea of ‘living life on purpose’. Participants can run, dressed in white or the most extravagant costumes, through the four Dye Zones which ensure there’s no getting away from being soaked in colour. As part of registration all participants will receive a goody bag with their white t-shirt, their very own dye packs and plenty more to get geared up for the run.
After crossing the finish line, runners, and spectators, can celebrate in the world famous Dye Festival as the full force of the brilliant colours are blasted all around. The explosion of dye ensures that this really is the most colourful 5km in the world!
