Enjoy a meal and beautiful countryside

Enjoy a delicious ‘fish and chip supper’ on board a diesel hauled train as the sun sets. The train will travel through the beautiful Rother Valley between Tenterden and Bodiam and, if you are lucky, you may even see a barn owl hunting across the grasslands.

Suppers will be available to book on 8, 22 July, 5, 19 August and 2 September 2015.

Boarding is at Tenterden Station from 6:00 pm ready for a 6:30 pm departure. An excellent trolley service offers a glass of wine or a pint of locally brewed beer as you travel towards Bodiam (additional charge applies). Whether booking online or by telephone, your meal will be freshly cooked and delivered during the course of the return journey to Bodiam Station. The train will pause at Bodiam to allow passengers to stretch their legs. The Cavell Van, which depicts the story of the Unknown Warrior and Nurse Edith Cavell will be open to view as will the gift shop. The train is scheduled to arrive back in Tenterden around 9.15 pm. The cost is £25 for adults and £19.50 for children.

Fish and Chips

Menus choice includes:

Cod and chips, plaice and chips, haddock and chips, jumbo sausage and chips, chicken and chips, veggie burger and chips and vegetarian spring roll and chips.

The Kent & East Sussex railway stretches over 10½ miles between Tenterden and Bodiam stations and visitors of all ages will love the excitement of travelling on one of the country’s finest rural light railways through some really beautiful countryside.

Due to the popularity of the suppers pre-booking is essential – please visit www.kesr.org.uk or telephone 01580 765155.
