The opening of Tunbridge Wells ice rink live from Calverley Grounds

This year you will be able to see live streaming the opening of the Tunbridge Wells ice rink so people who cannot get to the venue, can watch what is happening on their computers.

Building on the success of the time lapse film of the Tunbridge Wells ice rink build, Dark Horse Digital will be streaming the opening of the ice rink on Friday 20 November from a production unit in one of the traditional wooden chalets. Cameras, microphones and play-in studio graphics will be set up to record the ice rink opening.

The live stream will begin at 6 pm with the arrival of local percussion and drumming Samba band Bloco Fogo, and will continue with solo and group ice skating performances by Gillingham Silver Blades and the Mayor officially opening the ice rink. For those who want up to the minute information about the ice rink opening, it can be accessed here

or alternatively from here

or here

Owners Sasha Fromeyer and Paul Daniels said: ‘Web video filming is what we do. We could just shoot the opening and throw it up online; however, adding a live element will build excitement and social media chatter. The social media community can not only read all about it, they can click through and see what’s everyone talking about as it happens.’

The ice rink will be open seven days a week from Friday 20 Nov 2015 to Sunday 3 Jan 2016 (closed Christmas Day). The outdoor venue is situated within the natural amphitheatre of Calverley Grounds offers spectacular views of the park and really is a unique and special festive experience.

The rink is going to be even bigger – with capacity for 250 skaters, and due to popular demand there is now an extra morning parent and toddler session.
