...And the Fat Controller
If you visit the Spa Valley Railway on 1,2, 8 and 9 October you can meet Thomas the Tank Engine and some of his friends from the famous railway stories including Diesel and Daisy and of course the Fat Controller.
This is a chance to experience a ride on a real steam train and take part in Thomas themed activities.

Start from Tunbridge Wells West Station and take the branch line train to visit Thomas at Ffarquhar. You will spend around an hour at Ffarquhar, including meeting Thomas and the Fat Controller. Watch Thomas shunting trucks or taking part in story re-enactments before returning to Tunbridge Wells again hauled by one of Thomas's friends.
There will be further attractions in the engine shed at Tunbridge Wells West before and after your train journey including the ‘Imagination Station’, face painting and temporary tattoos, and vintage penny machines. There is also a buffet car and Thomas gift shop.
The 16:00 train is also the Fat Controller’s Tea Party (must be booked in advance) and is hauled by Thomas in one direction!
Special fares apply, which are cheaper if booked in advance.
In advance: adult £13,child (18 months to ear) £11, family (two adults and two children) £45,Babies ride for free.
Tea Party Supplement (child only) £6.
On the day: adult £14,child £12,family £49
There is no extra charge to take part in the additional Thomas activities.
Trains will depart from Tunbridge Wells West at 10:00, 11:10, 12:20, 13:40, 14:50, and 16:00.
Advance booking is strongly recommended as these trains can sell out fast!
