As the second generation of HP Latex printers begin to reach the end of the standard manufacturer warranty, large format print and consumables specialist supplier Atech is reporting an increase in sales of its compatible inks.

‘The LX260s were launched in 2013, so we are now seeing more customers turning to our compatible inks as they’re no longer obliged to buy official HP consumables as they are out of warranty anyway,’ said managing director Allan Ashman.

‘In a matter of weeks we have seen our sales simply rocket and we expect that to keep increasing.

‘While these inks offer our customers cost savings and an improved bottom line, the important thing is that their clients can’t see a difference in the final product, and the inks have just the same environmental benefits.’

Tanya Pepper, director at Nottingham based Colorset ltd agrees. She said, ‘We have several HP Latex printers working round the clock so we consume a lot of ink. When our machines went out of warranty we decided to look for a third party ink and came across the Atech offering.

‘We have been using this new ink for over four months now and we are very pleased with its performance. We are maintaining the high standards for our customers whilst making a great saving for the business.’

Colorset purchased four HP LX260s at the end of October 2013, and uses them to produce a wide range of display materials across sectors including retail, property, sport, signage, interiors, exhibition and events.

Tanya continued, ‘The service from Atech is great, and with the warranty they have on the ink lines and heads it wasn’t a difficult decision to make. They have engineers on standby if needed – but we haven’t had a single problem with the new inks.’

Allan added, ‘Making the change is a simple process because the inks are a direct replacement for the original HP product. There is no need to flush the printer, just replace the exhausted HP cartridges with ours and you can carry on printing.’

The inks are manufactured to the highest standards in Germany by UVM and are available in the UK exclusively through Atech. All cartridges are 775 ml and the range covers both Generation 1 (HP25500) and Generation 2 (HP26500, HP28500, HPl260 & HPl280) and Generation 3 available shortly.
