Colourbyte prepares for bumper sales of canvas and stretcher bars

Colourbyte is anticipating a very busy run up to Christmas, with inkjet canvas and stretcher bars expected to be its top sellers in the photography and personalised gift industries. Previous pre-Christmas sales have been so high that the Hemel Hempstead print supplier has taken another warehouse opposite its headquarters to ensure it can store enough stock.

‘We sell three times more inkjet canvas and stretcher bars during November and December than at any other time of the year – our customers buy whole pallets at a time,’ explained Colourbyte director Tim Stockley.

‘Last year, for example, we had several instances of big name businesses requiring hundreds of rolls for next-day delivery, which we were able to supply thanks to the additional racking we installed. This Christmas, with even more warehouse space, we have over 10,000 rolls of inkjet canvas and 800,000 stretcher bars in stock.’

Colourbyte's own brand canvas media includes seven different products for dye and pigment ink and three products for solvent and latex ink. Working with manufacturers in the Far East, the company has developed canvas products with bright white coatings and fast drying times at competitive prices. The range includes economical polyester to high grade poly cotton canvas.

The stretcher bars, available in 18 or 38 mm deep options with rounded edges, are also predicted to sell well again this Christmas. Made from kiln dried Russian pine, the bars are available singly or in boxes of 50 (18 mm) or 30 (38 mm), complete with free wedges to ensure the canvas is stretched tightly across the frame for a perfect finish.
