White Star Printing has installed technotrans press peripherals on its latest press, a Komori LS 429 H-UV. The order includes an alpha.c temperature control unit, alpha.f dampening filtration system and alpha.r 3 water treatment unit which keeps the pH and hardness of the water in the dampening at a controlled level.
The Chandler’s Ford company offers both litho and digital multi-colour printing equipment. It is a start up business that was named after the famous ocean liner company and it has an alliance with Southampton company Snows Business Forms.

Max Middleton, managing director, said: ‘We took advice from Komori on the technical specification of this press. We know that the use of press peripherals reduces consumable and waste costs and gives us better process control which means improved efficiency. We need production reliability and quality it is what our customers expect from us – and this investment helps us to achieve that.’
technotrans managing director Peter Benton commented, ‘Press peripherals can offer both economic and environmental advantages to users. The decision to review and specify peripherals should be motivated by a need to maximise efficiency and throughput and to ensure consistent quality.’
