Heidelberg UK has formed a new Prinect workflow team, combining technical and commercial knowledge to provide printers with all round advice, implementation and on-going service.

Paul Chamberlain is adding Prinect workflow to his portfolio of expertise. He also heads up the company’s colour management services and is the product specialist for B2 and B3 presses.

‘The team we put together to spearhead our colour services has been a huge success and over the last 12 months has handled 31 print colour management and ISO 12647-2 certification programmes,’ said Paul. ‘The Prinect workflow team will combine sales, service and software expertise so that printers can benefit from a comprehensive knowledge base and fast and effective implementation.’

Heidelberg UK’s integrated and modular approach to workflow with the Prinect family has proved extremely popular. Pre-press and pressroom (litho and digital) solutions are now commonplace and finishing is being added steadily and there is a sharp rise in the population of production to MIS and web to print solutions.

Heidelberg has close links with Tharstern and that relationship has been further cemented with John Murphy’s departure from Heidelberg to join this MIS supplier.

‘John did great work for Heidelberg for 19 years and I am really pleased we will continue to work together in the future,’ added Paul.

Heidelberg can also link other third party MIS and web to print products.

The new Prinect specialist team includes for the north Dave Naylor (sales) and David Grimshaw (service) and for the south Colin Snowball (sales) and Dave B Smith (service) with integration specialists Neil Blakely and Graham Avery and software gurus Simon Welton and Paul Hartley supporting those regional pairings. There are helpdesk and other specialists also in support behind the scenes.

Paul concluded, ‘The developments in workflow just keep on coming and not all can wait for a big show. Within the Prinect family over the last year the significant developments have included the launch of Inpress Control 2, the digital front end, API (Advance Programming Interface which enables printers to publish and share colour results, eliminating the need to measure printed sheets off line) and the enhanced ColorTool 2016. Good workflows, unmatched expertise and first rate training modules will keep Heidelberg customers in pole position.’
