Roland DG has confirmed that it will continue to champion the next generation of signage professional as it once again sponsors the ‘young sign maker of the year’ award at this year’s BSGA British Sign Awards.

Brett Newman, managing director for Roland DG (UK) Ltd, said: “’We are delighted to be involved with the BSGA British Sign Awards for a second consecutive year and work alongside the British Signs and Graphics Association to recognise and celebrate the important contribution young people make to the sign industry.

‘Young people aren’t only the future of the sign industry, they bring fresh ideas and perspectives that will help drive our industry forward and explore new markets. This is a cause which is close to my heart, and that of the company – Roland DG is committed to introducing the apprentices we employ to the creativity of the sign and graphics industry.’

David Catanach, director of the BSGA, said: ‘The aim of the ‘young sign maker of the year’ award is to find a young sign maker who is already making an outstanding contribution to a sign business in terms of commitment, ability, contribution to the business and future potential.

‘However, formal training and qualifications are vital to young people and all candidates should have undertaken or be looking to undertake a formal training programme such as a sign making apprenticeship or equivalent.’
