Xerox has unveiled a firmware upgrade for new and existing Impika Compact, Reference and Evolution inkjet presses. The firmware enables providers to capture business growth by increasing press volume and productivity.

Printers can handle more jobs and experience quicker turnaround times with up to 30% faster print speeds (40 kHz). Additionally, variable ink drop size optimises mixed page content with small drops for detail and large drops for improved density and coverage. Very High Quality mode – available on the Evolution press or monochrome only configurations – delivers new levels of image quality equivalent to 1200 dpi visual resolution multi-drop and enables very efficient ink usage with a larger gamut.

The new firmware is available immediately worldwide.
