Newtech Glasgow achieved record sales for its exhibitors this week with multiple sales made on stands from over 100 personally invited guests.

Louisa Burrows of Rayner’s was at Newtech Glasgow: ‘We have just returned from exhibiting at our first Newtech show in Glasgow and we are delighted with the outcome. We have made a healthy return on our investment and certainly look forward to participating at the future Newtech venues.

‘We are seasoned exhibitors and are used to the larger, expensive venues with thousands of visitors and the numerous conversations that follow. Those shows are high risk but you go because you may or may not see the return but you also go to be seen and get your brand out there in that particular industry. Newtech is different in a good way; the cost is significantly less, the set up is less time consuming and requires less staff but most beneficial is that the visitors are personally invited to attend which means they are fewer with a serious interest in the range of products on show. As exhibitors we were able to have more meaningful conversations and demonstration time which ultimately led to sales.

‘We also like the fact that Newtech provides a ‘road show’ type of event whereby we can go and see our customers in a particular area rather than relying on them to trek miles to come to a particular venue.’

‘Glasgow was our first one day show,’ said Martin Morrissey at Coactive Events, the organiser of Newtech. ‘We want to keep costs and resources for our exhibitor partners down to the minimum whilst at the same time providing a top quality platform for sales, so we decided to experiment with a one day show rather than two – and it worked!

‘Sales personnel love our shows because they can see all their customers in a region in one or two days instead of spending weeks on the road. We are all looking forward to the Brighton show which promises to be very exciting.’
