Win! Win! Win!

We were so impressed with the work of the World Land Trust that we wanted to help the organisation further. We looked at the various initiatives that the charity undertakes, and decided that we would buy an acre of land in one of the areas in which it works so that it can protect it and help the indigenous species, the flora and fauna that inhabit it to thrive. Then we thought, wouldn’t it be nicer still if instead of Earth Island owning that bit of land, how about we buy the acre in the name of a lucky reader and their company.

So, that is what we are going to do (we may in fact buy several!).

To be entered into the prize draw, simply answer this question and send your name and contact details to susan@earthisland.co.uk.

The first entry drawn at random will have an acre of land bought in their name, with the donation going to the World Land Trust.

The question is: who are the three main patrons of the World Land Trust? (see www.worldlandtrust.org)

The World Land Trust is an international conservation charity, which protects the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats acre by acre. It differs from most other international NGOs in that it emphasises the importance of supporting local conservation groups and always working through local partners. What we like about it is that to stop deforestation, rather than ranting and raving but doing little that is practical, it simply buys the land! This is then set aside for conservation.
