Real Digital has taken delivery of a Polar N115 Plus with comprehensive materials handling that includes a Transomat downloader, lifter and jogger.

‘This cutting line replaces a larger Polar 155 and is a format which better suits the size of paper we are handling day to day,’ said managing director David Laybourne. ‘The materials handling we have specified gives us 15 to 20% higher productivity and reduces manual handling which means less strain on the operators.’

The company has proved very successful by offering paper and e-based fulfilment services or interactive projects to specific sectors including retail, mobile, healthcare and financial services. Handling a broad range of materials from DM to packaging and point of sale, its guillotines have to be robust and adaptable.

‘Our new guillotine will operate on a two shift system, normally about 20 hours a day. The Polar make is the best and these guillotines work well in our environment and for the work we handle,’ said David. ‘We are one of the biggest Heidelberg finishing sites, almost a showcase.’
