Kernow Coatings has announced that Xeikon has approved the use of two matt white adhesive film coatings for the 8000 series and 9800 machines.

The certification covers Kernow’s 120 mic Hydro Print PET based media, a high stability and temperature resistant material which will not melt, scratch, shrink or deform like cheaper alternatives.

Xeikon has also confirmed that the 60 micron Hydro Print matt white permanent adhesive labels have been certified for use on its machines. Kernow developed Hydroprint as an extremely tough and durable media that requires no lamination and is tear proof, weather proof, waterproof, chemical and tear resistant.

The Xeikon 8000 series and 9800 are designed for use in short run print shops through to large print service providers. Commenting on the announcement, ‘At Xeikon we continuously add new technologies to the different parts of our total solution approach,’ said Danny Mertens, corporate communications manager at Xeikon. ‘New high tech substrates, like those of Kernow, fit perfectly in our application-range as it brings a lot of added value to our customers developing new products.’

Head of sales and marketing for Kernow, Bosy Colak, commented: ‘The certification that Hydroprint is compatible with Xeikon machines is a glowing endorsement to our investment in research and development and the quality of Kernow products.’
