Platinum Print has installed temperature control and an ink.line cartridge system to its Komori LS 529, a five colour B2 press.

It turned to technotrans on the recommendation of the press supplier. Every pressroom appreciates the need for process control and temperature control is critical on any press for ensuring the ink tack is exactly right to produce quality work.

This press investment comes following the merger of Harrogate Printing and Platinum Print, which has also involved the transfer of 20 staff (bringing the total to 50) to Platinum’s impressive facility. Together these businesses cover a wide gamut of commercial print including web to print, point of sale, marketing collateral and direct mail and they offer design, promotional gifts and distribution services.

Five ink.line cartridge systems will allow Platinum Press to handle CMYK process colours and specials with none of the skinning waste associated with tins. The cartridges are quick and easy to replace and minimise remnant waste. It creates a cleaner pressroom environment.

technotrans celebrates its 25th anniversary in the UK this year. Today it provides temperature control, water control, ink mixing and application systems (including UV), filtration and humidification products. It operates across litho and digital sectors.
