BDT Print Media GmbH has announced that Delphax has adopted the BDT TPF-550 deep pile feeder for its elan 500. The pairing of the BDT Tornado innovative media handling capabilities with the elan’s high speed printer, which delivers 500 impressions per minute and features advanced Memjet printhead technology, is an industry first.

Delphax will be exhibiting its elan 500 with the TPF-550 feeder in hall 5, booth C24 (Memjet stand).

The TPF-550 Feeder incorporates the revolutionary patented BDT Tornado technology for media separation, lift and transport. The technology provides enhanced feeding reliability with problematic media, such as light porous or heavy coated stock, as well as specialty media like perforated, creased or pre-glued mailers. The fully electronic control of the Tornado technology allows for media feed parameters to be stored in the feeder memory and used to automatically configure the unit. Job changeover time is significantly reduced due to automation during the setup process. With these new feed capabilities, elan 500 users will see enhanced productivity and improved profitability.

‘Our flagship printer, the elan 500, is the fastest cut sheet, colour inkjet printer in the world in its class. It goes without saying that we should have the most advanced cut sheet feeder in the world,’ said Steve Hubbard, Delphax vice president of sales and marketing for the US and Europe. ‘In field trials, we have seen stoppages due to feed issues decrease by up to five times with the TPF-550. The enhanced feed capabilities of the TPF-550 and the ease of set up and operation make for a powerful combination to drive productivity and profits for our customers.’

‘We are pleased Delphax selected the TPF-550 feeder to integrate into the elan 500,’ said Ralf Hipp, CEO BDT Print Media GmbH. ‘The advanced feed capabilities of the TPF-550 Feeder pair extremely well with the wide and exotic range of media types printed on the elan 500. Our ‘Load and Go’ operation will allow users to focus on what is most important – namely the printing.’

You can visit BDT in hall 8b, stand C09 for more detailed information on its Tornado technology.
