Esko and Landa Digital Printing have announced a strategic collaboration that brings together their respective solutions to create an end to end digital folding carton workflow that drives Nanographic printing presses. This integration enables folding carton packaging converters to automate their workflow starting from order entry over pre-press to the high speed Landa S10 Nanographic Printing Presses.
At drupa, Esko and Landa showed bi-directional connectivity from the MIS (EFI Packaging Suite with Radius ERP software at its core) to Esko Automation Engine to the Landa DFE powered by EFI Fiery technology. Esko Automation Engine, including Esko Color Engine for colour consistency, is further complemented with Esko WebCenter for online collaboration and approval, thereby integrating the entire folding carton production workflow from design to the production on the S10 at 13,000 B1 sheets per hour.

‘We are thrilled to be partnering with Landa and to bring a comprehensive digital packaging production solution for folding carton converters to market. Nanographic printing presses are a breakthrough for quality, speed and productivity,’ said Bernard Zwaenepoel, senior vice president Software Solutions at Esko. ‘The collaboration between our companies will ensure that our mutual customers will have a smooth transition to a hybrid environment where both offset and digital workflows can co-exist.’
‘Packaging is a key market for our Nanographic printing presses. With offset quality and speed as well as the ability to print on any off the shelf substrate, Nanography is game changing technology,’ said Gilad Tzori, vice president Product Strategy at Landa. ‘It was a natural choice for us to collaborate with Esko, a leader in packaging workflow, to streamline the print production process and to maximise the throughput of our presses. Folding carton converters now have access to the industry’s smoothest and most productive digital print solution.’
