Over 130 secondary school children and their teachers from 28 schools from all across the UK travelled to Stationers’ Hall in the City of London to receive their awards in the Shine School Media Awards 2016. The Shine project is supported by the Stationers’ Charitable Foundation.
This year Sadiq Khan, the new Mayor of London gave his full support sending his ‘best wishes and congratulations to all the students taking part’.
The project has many high profile sponsors such as the Copyright Licensing Authority, Hearst Corporation, The Printing Charity, Antalis Papers, The Telegraph, Google, Getty Images and many more.

Annie Hotton, chair of Shine, said: ‘It is a privilege to be a part of this wonderful project and welcome these talented students to Stationers’ Hall, the home of writers, publishers, printers and illustrators for 600 years and now a hub for the communications and content industries. The judging panel all agreed that the standard and quality of the publications entered this year is inspirational. We also perceived a noticeable appreciation and respect for copyright and a stronger understanding and reference to environmental issues and solutions. The students also demonstrated a good understanding of sound business practice.’
