Optimum performance and minimal maintenance are the criteria which led K2 Print in Poole to invest in technotrans’ pressroom peripherals.

The business runs four presses, three conventional and its latest Komori LS429 H-UV, and all are equipped with peripherals to control the machine performance.

Jared Denton, printroom manager, said: ‘The water treatment ensures the water runs as clean as possible. It is peace of mind and we use systems on all our presses. The filtration was recommended to us by Komori who said we would only need to check the chemistry every two weeks. In fact, we do a Monday morning check just because we always want our presses to run to their optimum.’

The products specified by K2 include the alpha.c circulator which controls the temperature of the press, the alpha.r water treatment system and the alpha.f which filters out dust and debris and recycles chemistry within the dampening solution. That means a reduced chemistry bill and less waste disposal costs.

The installation went smoothly and the H-UV is now working double day shifts with the other three presses operating around the clock. All the machines are producing general commercial work.
