Liverpool printer Printfine has specified peripherals from technotrans for the first time. It has elected to use temperature control, water treatment and filtration systems in the beta range from technotrans.

The equipment has been fitted to a new Komori GL 540 press.

‘technotrans is the market leader so we were guided by Komori, knowing that the peripherals would enhance the quality of print and be an environmental advantage. We wanted to be green and to ensure production was stable. We need to know the founts, inks and temperature are consistent and the minimal maintenance is also an advantage,’ said Peter Scott, managing director.

The beta.c circulator ensures temperature is controlled around the ink and dampening units. Filtration removes dust and debris and recycles the chemistry, cutting the consumables and waste disposal bills.

Combined with the water treatment which controls the pH and hardness of the water, it means good consistent dampening solution at all times.

Printfine has elected to take out a maintenance service contract, recognising that equipment works to its optimum when kept in tip top condition and that that in turn prevents costly downtime.

‘The equipment must be in as good condition next year as it is today,’ said Peter.
