High productivity vacuum metalliser to launch at Bobst event

Bobst Manchester will be holding an open house at its Competence Centre in Heywood, England on 18 October 2016.

The event will see the unveiling of the new Bobst K5 Expert, which the company says will be the highest productivity vacuum metalliser in the world. The K5 Expert is the next generation of the already well established K5000 platform and can run at speeds up to 1200 metres per minute. As is particularly critical in a cost sensitive process such as vacuum metallising, the new K5 Expert includes significant cost saving innovations to reduce energy consumption, consumable usage and film waste, whilst maximising productivity. This results in a lower environmental impact and gives our customers the lowest production costs available in the market.

Visitors to the Competence Centre will see live demonstrations of this new machine as well as learning its innovative capabilities from Bobst technical specialists.

Also being launched during the open house is the new Bobst AluBond process which provides high metal adhesion with values up to 5N/15 mm and improves surface energy retention through an innovation in the vacuum metallisation process. This process will be demonstrated on the new K5 Expert metalliser and there will also be an educational session in the laboratory where the full effects of AluBond can be witnessed.
