In 1991, HP launched the first inkjet large format DesignJet printer, replacing pen plotters and forever reinventing how architects and engineers design and print large format technical drawings. The original monochrome model offered early users easier, faster and more affordable printing, and the later colour printing models opened new application opportunities, such as GIS maps, and provided faster speeds and higher quality images. With more than three million of these printers installed worldwide today, HP is committed to innovation and maintaining open collaboration with its customers to not only create solutions for them, but with them.

‘This year HP DesignJet celebrates 25 years and continues to set the benchmark for reliable printing solutions, fast speeds and high quality output,’ said Thomas Valjak, EMEA head of Large Format Printing, GSB HP Inc. ‘We are commited to on-going reinvention to meet the evolving needs of architects, engineers, graphics production, GIS and construction professionals and helping customers work where and how they want to. In 1991, HP DesignJet was born in Barcelona and more than two decades later our 60% market share clearly shows the true partnership we have been building during those years with our customers.’
To celebrate this milestone, HP is inviting DesignJet customers to enter the ‘My HP DesignJet and Me’ contest. From now through to October 25, owners of HP DesignJet Printers can visit hp.com/go/myhpdesignjet to enter the contest.
The five first winners will receive the HP x2 210 PC grand prize. Also, 15 additional winners will each receive bag of HP 25th anniversary goodies, worth £75. Contest participants must own an HP DesignJet printer as of May 31 2016 to enter.
