Fuller Davies has announced that it has invested again with the purchase of a Heidelberg CX102-5+LX+coater with Inpress control, further adding to its firepower. This is part of a £1.2 million on-going investment programme. The installation was very smooth and the press is up and running at full capacity.

Neil Stones, managing director, said: ‘We look at our investment strategy very carefully as the print sector and wider economy continues to pose some challenging questions. After detailed market analysis and discussions with our sales and production team, coupled with our confidence and the resurgence in the catalogue and brochure print markets, we decided on this investment. We are pleased our decision has been vindicated by recent increase in associated sales.

‘When it came to press choice, there was only one for us, Heidelberg. It has continued to develop and improve its offering over the past few years with superbly engineered, high specification machines. We are all extremely excited about this new investment which is already providing an increase of 20% in our productivity as well as enhanced quality and service levels to our national client base. Having Inpress ink control has revolutionised the way we print and is an amazing piece of technology; it is the ultimate in colour accuracy and control. Make readies are five minutes and we are running at 16,500 sheets per hour. Simply stunning!’
