UK software developer, Taopix, has taken on six new apprentices at its UK headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The successful six, who were chosen from an original group of 11 trainees, will progress into five research and development positions and one digital marketing role within the organisation.

The apprentices were part of a seven week training programme that took place at Taopix and included four weeks of technical training and three weeks of work experience.

The decision to take on more apprentices came on the back of the success of two former apprentices who are now both in full time roles within the company.

Managing director Faye Stephenson said, ‘Like any other successful and expanding company, we need high calibre people in all departments and decided that the nurturing of young people into key players needed to be an integral part of our recruitment strategy. We set up ‘The Greenhouse Academy’ to recruit talented apprentices and this group represents our first major intake. We are planning to recruit up to 10 successful candidates every year, all receiving the training and support they need to become invaluable members of the Taopix family.’
