Burntwood based Staffordshire Signs & Graphics is a keen Hexis product advocate, having worked with the company’s versatile media range for many years. The company has recently relied on these innovative solutions for two vehicle wrapping projects: one involving an off road rally car, the other focused on protecting a new Tesla Model S.

Managing director Richard Keasey said, ‘The vehicle wrapping and protection sector is booming and we are always looking to find the very latest products to offer to our automotive customers.

‘Last September we attended a workshop at Hexis UK’s Lichfield based premises for the launch of its revolutionary Hexis Bodyfence vehicle paint protection film. Whilst we were there, we were also treated to a sneak preview of Hexis Super Chrome film and we knew that both products were ideal for our customers. Having viewed the Super Chrome film at the workshop, I bought the product there and then.’

Staffordshire Signs & Graphics has since put the Super Chrome film to good use wrapping an off road Rakeway Ridgeback race car. Taking two years to build, the rally car has a supercharged Jaguar V8 XJR engine; blue Super Chrome film was chosen to wrap the vehicle to make it stand out from the crowd even more.

The entire car was wrapped by Staffordshire Signs & Graphics and, at its first outing, the vehicle was swamped with onlookers – and potential customers – as it was so unique at the race meeting.

Richard commented, ‘The colour and product choice have been a real success in gaining people’s attention at the rallies we attend.’

Available in seven colours – blue, red, purple, green, titanium, silver and gold – Super Chrome 90 µm high performance film has a high gloss surface finish with a mirror effect and has been specifically developed for stunning temporary vehicle wrapping applications. Courtesy of its high technical performance and conformability, Super Chrome can be used on the curved or textured surfaces (including weldings and rivets) of almost all types of vehicles.

The company is also a keen user of the Bodyfence product and has recently used it to undertake a full wrap of a new Tesla car.

Richard explained, ‘We had an enquiry from a member of our local rally club who wanted to safeguard his new black Tesla Model S with a paint protection film. The Bodyfence film was primarily chosen because of the approvals that Hexis has achieved with previous Tesla projects.

‘Bodyfence has enhanced the gloss finish of the car even more than the original paintwork, and – crucially – the paintwork is now protected from scratches and stone chips which is important when considering the vehicle’s fast acceleration.’

He continued, ‘Bodyfence is a brilliant product; I love the material and its properties. The car looks truly stunning now it is finished, and the prestigious project will really help us launch our new Bodyfence paint protection film service to all our customers.’

Bodyfence is a 155µ ultra-clear, super gloss surface finish, self-adhesive polyurethane film with advanced surface technology, specifically designed for the protection and enhancement of vehicle bodies. With outstanding impact and shock proofing properties, it protects vehicle paint from chipping, scratches and minor dents, as well as insects, UV rays, car wash brushes and much more.
