Leading English manufacturer Johnson Tiles has installed three further printers from the new Gamma XD series from Durst.

With its five Durst Gamma printing systems, Johnson Tiles produces wall and floor tiles for the retail, education and housing markets, for leisure centres, dining and culture sectors, as well as for the hotel and travel industries. The digitally decorated tiles are featured on the London Underground, the Hilton Hawaii and Marks & Spencer stores, among others.

The company, founded in 1901, has its own design and development team and is particularly well known for its sustainability.

Johnson Tiles is reinforcing its exacting standards in terms of print quality and productivity by investing in the latest Durst inkjet technology. The new Gamma XD series machines are equipped with two colour rows and Digital Material (DM) technology to produce innovative products with effect inks. Thanks to special ink modules, large quantities of ink (more than 100 g/m2) can be applied to the tiles. For Johnson Tiles, this means greater flexibility in terms of creation and production because every type of effect ink can be used for the required print volumes: high gloss, lustre, matte, white, metallic, adhesive for powder application, and many more.
