Twenty10 Digital add DigiFold Pro for faster folding

Northampton based Twenty10 Digital has added a Morgana DigiFold Pro to its finishing line up in order speed through a growing amount of work requiring creasing and folding. The system was purchased from Morgana Systems.

The Digifold Pro is an ideal product for creasing/folding heavier weight paper stock. It is designed specifically for the professional digital or litho printer with a need to crease and fold printed, heavy weight or cross grained stock.

Commenting on the purchase, Paul Riley, managing director of Twenty10 Digital, said: ‘Growing business from a greetings card client meant that we needed to take a closer look at our creasing and folding capacity. Whilst we had used the DocuMaster along with our Morgana Major folder, they are simply not fast enough to keep up with the growing volume of work that we were producing. What had been taking us five hours to produce using our existing devices can now be produced in one hour on the DigiFold Pro.’

In addition to the greetings card work, Twenty10 is also using the machine for folding an increasing volume of DL sized four page work. ‘The DigiFold Pro is extremely versatile and flexible. Set up is extremely fast, operation very simple to learn, and a skew facility allows for small adjustments in the crease and fold actions for printed sheets slightly off square, which can sometimes happen with digital print. This machine is another fine example of the robust, quality engineering provided by Morgana.’

Morgana DigiFold Pro employs an innovative creasing rule and matrix, the DynaCrease, that eliminates tearing and, therefore, cracking on a digitally printed sheet. By using this patented technology DigiFold Pro is able to crease and fold over 6000 A4 sheets an hour. This excellent throughput speed is achieved by creasing the sheet without stopping it, yet maintaining an accuracy of +/‐ 0.1mm.

Controlled by the same innovative seven inch SmartScreen panel as the rest of the Morgana Pro range, DigiFold Pro is instructed how long the sheet is and which crease and fold to produce. All settings and adjustments are made using the SmartScreen and, as only symbols are used, operation couldn’t be simpler.

Twenty10 Digital is used to finishing work with Morgana equipment – the company already runs a wide range of product from the manufacturer, including a DigiBook 200 PUR binder for perfect bound products; a CardXtra for business cards and other small format jobs; a DocuMaster for bookletmaking; a Matrix laminator; Rhin-o-Tuff wire-o binding product; and a Morgana Major Folder.
