Investment in lay flat binding and die cutting/creasing processes enhances the offering to creative markets, improves control and turnaround times and reduces environmental impact.

To support its customers increasing demand for differentiation and creativity in their printed marketing, Park has invested in a Kisun DB 440, Digi Binder and Digi Press with a cover gluing unit. This will enable it to produce lay flat binding in-house.

Paul Walker, deputy managing director, said: ‘Lay flat binding allows our customers to design across a double page spread without losing imagery or text in the spine. The continuous flow technique is especially helpful to pieces such as corporate brochures, photobooks, look books and property brochures, where double page spreads are used for greater impact. The binder allows us to create a stunning brochure with maximum space for imagery, graphics and creativity and a seamless flow to the design.’

To further support its creative offering, Park has also invested in a Heidelberg SBD Zenith.

This means that it will now be able to produce the complex die cut and folded pieces sought by its creative and direct mail customers in-house, under the company’s own rigorous process control and without the need for the cost, emissions and lost time of transport to outworkers.
