Denmaur Independent Papers has announced the opening of its new central warehouse and logistics centre in Bardon, Leicestershire.
The new site, which is over 130,000 square feet, has 32,000 picking locations, a significant bulk storage area, and is able to hold in excess of 20,000 tonnes of stock.
Mike Gee, managing director of Denmaur Independent Papers, said of the opening: ‘This represents a significant investment for the company and is part of our plan to expand our ability to service the commercial print sector.’

The project, which is now up and running, was the culmination of 18 months of planning and development and includes the relocation to new offices of the company’s Bardon sales office. This facility is managed by the recently appointed director Andy Buxton.
As well as effectively quadrupling the previous storage capacity, the company has increased its next day delivery offering by adding 12 new fuel efficient Scania lorries to support the increasing business.

Speaking of the investment, group commercial director Nick Gee commented, ‘The warehouse with its purpose built bays and dedicated marshalling areas is ideal for assisting the significant growth of the stockist business which has expanded considerably in the past two to three years.’
The new warehouse is centrally located in the heart of the country, well placed with good connections to major motorway networks which serve the length and breadth of the country for timely deliveries on a next day basis.
Andy Buxton, who has played a fundamental part in these developments is, after lots of hard work, delighted with the outcome. Andy commented, ‘We now have the ability to go to the market with an enhanced choice of products, more depth of stock alongside increased levels of service. This is what our customers require and what we can now offer – these are exciting times for Denmaur.’
