Dayfold is the first UK company to take Heidelberg’s latest MIS system, Prinect Business Manager.

Les Abbott-Fryer, joint managing director, said: ‘Business Manager will allow us to provide our clients with a more efficient service. It is the only system that we are aware of that fully incorporates all pre-press functions. We want to avoid duplication and devote more time to what really matters – exceeding our clients’ expectations.’

The company operates with a Speedmaster CD 74-6+L, two Indigo 5500s and extensive foiling and specialist binding for books and document presentation. It enjoys being innovative and so has no reticence in being first with new technology.

‘Printing can be of real value in the marketing mix but it has to stand out in a way that reflects the values of the client or end user. We are very experienced in helping design and marketing teams create value but the new MIS will enable us to provide even more support by spending less time on order processing and more time talking direct to the client. That means we can provide results that delight and deliver,’ said Les.

Prinect Business Manager provides reliable and flexible cost estimating and order processing. It brings together information from production to make processes transparent. That means fast and safe order handling and streamlined production. It also manages material and stock control and simplifies and streamlines the material flow within the print shop.

Precise job costing based on real production data and a variety of reports secure a reliable overview on the production and the relevant financial figures. It includes estimating; CRM and account management; warehouse and material management; integration with production workflows; and job costing and reports.

The Business Portal Service provides a web based online access for print buyers, order managers and sales reps. It means that print buyers can make an online Request For Quotation (RFQ) and order jobs as well as a dashboard with overview of all projects, including the tracking of basic job status.

In addition, print shop employees can access detailed customer information and an overview of all customer projects, RFQs and estimates. The order manager can start automatic calculations, define sales prices and issue quote letters.

For Dayfold the installation will be a ‘step change’. Installation and implementation has begun and will go live next year.
