Winchester Culverlands is replacing a Kodak Magnus with a Heidelberg Suprasetter.

‘We are replacing an older device with a current CTP system which we know will reliably output 22 plates an hour,’ said Stephen Edwards, managing director. ‘Our operators welcome the move and from a business point of view it will reduce the risk of press downtime. With its lower energy usage, the Suprasetter will also give us a cost and environmental advantage.’

The chem-free plates produced will feed a pressroom that includes a Speedmaster XL 75-5+L with Inpress Control 2 and Autoplate Pro installed last autumn and a SM 74-5P+L and a SM52-5. The company already has Pressroom Manager and it is considering switching from Prinergy to Prinect Prepress Manager in the future which it would link to the Tharstern Primo MIS. It is already very JDF minded.
