Rigid Containers is increasing its offering to e-commerce companies with the launch of an inside printed transit packaging concept.

The company is producing boxes with the printing on the inside the corrugated box for increased branding potential – reflecting how important e-commerce packaging can be in enhancing the consumer experience.

Online retail growth is pushing the demand for corrugated boxes to offer suitable protection for the product but with the benefit of greater visual impact. In addition, the YouTube ‘unboxing’ phenomenon with images of people unwrapping and opening packages and capturing and uploading the experience on the web is driving brands to be more aware of how the consumer interacts with the packaging.

The corrugated cases, which can be printed with brand logos and product information offer the consumer an easy way to access the product but also allow high impact graphics and branding to be incorporated to enhance the consumer experience.

Additionally if the box is decoratively printed inside it helps brand owners and e-commerce retailers to visually compensate for any transit damage, soiling or creases that can occur to the outside of the box during the transport process.

Rigid Containers Group sales and marketing manager Julian Freeman commented, ‘When a box is printed on the inside it transforms transit corrugated packaging from its image as just a brown box to one that offers luxury and protection while incorporating branding and eye catching visuals.’

He added, ‘Inside printing on corrugated also offers brand owners and retailers an environmentally friendly way to differentiate themselves while acquiring market share. As a company we recognised that e-commerce companies are looking for transit packaging that has the ability to interact with the customer at the point of use.’

‘We are sure that this concept offers a great opportunity for ecommerce companies or any brand that would like to enhance its brand image to the consumer,’ concluded Jullain.

The inside printed boxes can currently be produced on B and RP flute corrugated for greater product protection and are part of Rigid’s extensive bespoke product portfolio.
