An increase in customer demand at John Byrne Printing that placed a strain on its cutting capabilities has been resolved with the installation of a Baumann-Wohlenberg 115 high speed cutter, supplied by UK & Ireland agent Friedheim International.
Managing director Matt Herbert said, ‘With our recent investment in a B2 litho press, we needed to increase our cutting capacity in the Bindery. The new Baumann-Wohlenberg 115 satisfied all of our requirements and more.’

Based in Poole, Dorset, James Byrne Printing offers both digital and litho and is capable of handling almost any small to large volume jobs, including large format and short run book production (a specialty), as well as mailing and fulfilment projects. The company completes the process with a wide range of finishing options that include folding, laminating, stitching and binding, plus a number of special finishes.
Matt continued, ‘The Baumann-Wohlenberg was installed, demonstrated and in production within an extremely short space of time. The touch screen interface, whilst cutting edge, is also very easy to use and our operators took no time at all to get to grips with it. As the business continues to grow with the planned addition of more litho presses and folders, we will certainly be looking to Friedheim for future purchases.’
