Hartgraph Print has returned to Heidelberg for a second digital press, a Versafire CV, which runs alongside an existing Linoprint 751. It has been installed at the company’s site in Amersham.

‘We are still very focused on litho and only recently moved to 24 hour operations in the pressroom,’ said Steve Walters, Hartgraph partner with Tony Brooks. ‘However, digital is an important partner operation and this investment is spurred by technology change. We like the larger 700 mm tray and the vacuum rather than suction feed mechanism which will make personalising pre-printed sheets much easier. Also the white and clear varnish means we have something more to offer our customers.’

Two years ago the company invested in a Speedmaster XL 75-5+L with Inpress Control to run alongside an SM 52-5. At the same time it upgraded its workflow, taking Prepress Manager and Pressroom Manager.

Hartgraph anticipates taking on another operator in the coming weeks.

It uses Heidelberg platesetting, printing and finishing kit and workflows and feels secure in returning again to make this investment, confident in the robustness of the kit but also the advice and services support.
