The high speed Fusion Cross inserting system forms the centrepiece of Böwe Systec’s presence at the Hunkeler Innovationdays (Lucerne Exhibition Centre, 20 to 23 February, 2017).

The company’s high speed Fusion Cross inserting system with a new dual channel module, alongside the Mini Bridge White Paper Factory inserting solution.

Since the launch of the Fusion Cross with its inserting principle in 2012, Böwe Systec has constantly enhanced the high speed inserting system to meet the needs of its customers. At the event, the Fusion Cross is being shown in combination with a Hunkeler unwinder and the new dual channel module. It has been designed as a compact alternative to roll on/roll off or multi-channel solutions at low investment cost. This new, small footprint module combines a cut sheet with a continuous input channel, making it easy to switch from cut sheet to continuous applications or to merge documents from both input channels, and offering highly flexible and cost effective production.

With the Flow-Principle, Böwe Systec has developed a unique inserting technology for the Fusion Cross. The filling speed is slowed down by a factor of 4.5 providing much more time for the inserting procedure. This, in turn, allows a more reliable production process and makes it easy to process of a wide range of different enclosures, including seemingly ‘impossible’ ones, resulting in enhanced productivity and higher output at highest integrity levels. With the Fusion Cross, the company has not only created a high speed inserting system for the transactional market but a new inserting technology that offers a wealth of possibilities for flexible, profitable production in the mailing sector.

Live demonstrations will show visitors how intuitive it is to operate the Fusion Cross. Furthermore, the company will prove how the device is able to handle challenging materials by inserting a wooden board.

The Mini Bridge is another highlight. This solution for a White Paper Factory in the field of inserting has been developed in partnership with Riso. This integrated system prints full colour, personalised documents on-demand at speeds of up to 150 simplex pages per minute, automatically transports them and then inserts them without any manual intervention in the process in formats of up to C5 or, optionally, up to C4 – and it does so at a throughput of up to 4200 envelopes per hour.

Applications for the Mini Bridge include standardised transactional letters and individualised targeting as well as the production of contracts, individual quotes, corporate communications, payslips and other sensitive documents.
