Vision Paper and Board is always on the lookout for new and exciting innovations to help customers increase profitability without affecting quality.

Working with suppliers, it has now come up with an effective ‘pinch weights’ solution to rising prices.

Ian Pentland, commercial director for Vision Paper & Board, explained: ‘Pinch weights are slightly below standard grammages, providing more paper per tonne and so improved yields on a job. Sometimes these savings can be quite high and can certainly help to reduce the impact of rising paper prices.’

The new pinch weights are exclusive to Vision Paper and Board in its Calisto High Bulk coated paper range.

‘Comparing our 110 g/m2 against a standard 115 g/m2 can result in a saving of 4.3% without loss of quality,’ Ian comfirmed. ‘This level of competitiveness can make the difference between winning and losing an important job.’

In a further effort to help printers claw back some of the recent paper price increases, Vision Paper & Board can also provide their customers with a comprehensive bespoke sheeting offer.

Peter Featherstone, regional inside sales manager, commented: ‘With our fast turnaround sheeting service our customers can order the exact size they need for the job, minimising waste to help reduce costs. On our fleet of Pasaban machines we can sheet sizes ranging from large format 1850 x 2200 mm right down to a minimum of 300 x 320 mm, ensuring the right size for every job. Depending on the final size, savings of up to 18% can be easily achieved.’

Available on request is the ‘Your Size Bespoke Sheeting Guide’, which explains in detail how paper conversion works and demonstrates the savings available by choosing non standard sizes.

‘We know how hard the print trade is right now,’ Ian added, ‘and we feel it is our duty as a major supplier to the industry to help our customers emerge stronger from these difficult times. This is why we are constantly striving to offer better deals and innovative, cost saving solutions.’
