There is a stampede in the take up of technotrans maintenance contracts. The number taken out rose 28% in 2015 and 37% in 2016 and the outlook for 2017 is very strong.
‘Press technology has advanced significantly so more printers are running with less presses. It is critical that they are running reliably and to maximum efficiency,’ said Peter Benton, managing director of technotrans in the UK.

‘Using factory trained engineers to ensure the peripherals are in good order and properly maintained for top quality and output as well as optimum life makes good business sense. It also provides a chance for our engineers to update staff on developments or to provide technical tips.’
technotrans believes its customers save hundreds of pounds and have peace of mind as a result of taking our planned maintenance agreements. There are various levels of cover so that printers can balance out their needs and budget criteria. All can access the out of hours technical support hotline.
The most comprehensive version includes the supply and fitting of filters, two full service on the unit including flushing the heat exchanger on the first visit, F-gas refrigeration certification and a 15% discount on spares and labels.
Brendan Tierney, managing director of DXG Media, said: ‘I have dealt with technotrans for many years and find their staff very professional and always willing to help. Our maintenance agreement gives me peace of mind that the technotrans units on our machine are maintained to high standard, keeping breakdowns to a minimum. The technical department is second to none.’
Carol Cavanagh, compliance/production at Simpson Print Group, said: ‘As we run a 24 hours a day, seven days a week facility, we need our machines running in good order and feel preventative maintenance works for us. The service provided by technotrans is very good and provides the support we need.’
Gary Ingram, print manager for Multi Packaging Solutions Leicester, said: ‘Taking out a planned maintenance agreement with technotrans is a no brainer. The cost is minimal compared to downtime on a press. Having experts in to check and clean systems and prevent potential problems makes complete sense. It prevents downtime and enhances our process control.’

Phil Eates recently joined technotrans as service manager, and he said: ‘I am spending time during my first 100 days visiting customers and listening to their thoughts on service and support. I am getting very good response and some excellent ideas and as we move forward we will ensure that the back up we provide remains right for customers and the way they operate. Any printer who wants to have a say is welcome to call me on 01206-224210.”’
