BLP reduces make ready times with Pink Matrix

BLP has saved significant time and money since switching creasing matrix to Pink Matrix from C&T Matrix.

Based in Tyneside, BLP offers customers a wide range of print and mail services, with in-house design and data preparation through to advanced, high speed printing and integrated mail as well as warehousing and distribution.

The nature of BLP’s business means that it runs a lot of small to medium sized print jobs. Prior to introducing Pink matrix, the company found make ready time was often longer than the print run time. The hard compound of the matrix they were using was extremely difficult to chamfer. Ian Lansdell, finishing team leader, was keen to find a matrix that would help improve efficiency and so he approached C&T Matrix.

Ian explained, ‘It is far easier to chamfer and has not only saved us time on make ready, it is also almost half the price of the matrix from our previous supplier.’

The key component of Pink is Rosadium which gives durability and offers an alternative to counter plates. Pink also has extra strong tape, giving better registration; locators to improve alignment of the creasing rule, and a sharp chamfer which improves the flow over the matrix. It is easy to cut during make ready and is resilient to delamination.
