New compact Cron CTP

Apex Digital Graphics used its recent Real Print and Real Finish event to launch a new compact format, eco friendly Cron platesetting solution targeted at B3 format litho printers.

The Cron UVP-2632HX is a fully automated external drum CTP system with auto loading and in line plate punch. The system runs the new Blackwood Emerald UV low chemistry plates, and the in line Cron Emerald wash unit cleans the plate of unexposed polymer with a simple soap and water solution.

Maximum plate format for the unit is 670 x 560 mm and minimum size is 240 x 240 mm. Resolution options range from 2400 through to 3600 dpi. The UV laser light source on the unit on show consisted of 32 diodes.

The compact format of the unit has been achieved by integrating the autoloader and punch system into the imaging unit, and developing a smaller footprint wash unit.

The basic system will be able to produce some 26 plates per hour, and should be capable of imaging up to 850 square meters of plate per month

List price for the new unit will be £32,000.
