Route 1 launches same day dispatch

Following heavy investment in technology over the past year, South Yorkshire based trade printer, Route 1 Print, has introduced same day dispatch on its most popular print runs to cut turnaround times for clients.
Same day dispatch is now available on popular runs of flyers, business cards and roller banners.
‘We understand that our clients are often under pressure from their customers for quick delivery,’ said Jack Wilmott, brand manager for Route 1 Print. ‘Same day dispatch will help our clients that are working to tight deadlines. Consumers are expecting shorter lead times across the board and now, our clients can cater further to this demand.’

A number of investments over the past few months have been instrumental in achieving even faster turnarounds, including the installation of an HP Indigo 10000 and Horizon Smartstacker. This notably, was a global first, allowing seamless in line finishing significantly reducing factory throughput times.
The company also converted its B1 Fformat Heidelberg SX102 to use LE-UV inks, as well adding a Cutstar roll feed to eliminate drying time and allow work to progress straight from press to guillotining, folding and binding.
Undertaking a complete factory reorganisation last August allowed the trade printer to establish lean flow product streams. This vastly improved throughput times and maximised efficiency of the factory which is headed up by operations director Jim Swain. He said, ‘We have invested in all aspects of our operation to ensure we can consistently deliver strong performance for our customers, applying world class principles and the latest technologies to deliver short lead times with confidence while maintaining very competitive pricing.’
Businesses are moving faster than ever before and marketing teams are under pressure to deliver print campaigns with little notice. ‘We can now help our clients move at the same pace as the industry and harness the print spend of buyers requiring short turnarounds,’ explained Jack. Print resellers can now expand their offering and sell to customers who need print fast.
The launch comes as Route 1 Print continues to build its arsenal of reseller tools which enable clients to grow their businesses. The recent e-book, ‘Print Customers and How to Find Them’, analyses the spending habits of the biggest print buying industries, while its industry specific marketing toolkits enable resellers to target these businesses with tailored product examples. The introduction of same day dispatch ultimately aligns with the wholesale printer’s mission to support resellers and make their lives easier.
