Informa Exhibitions has announced the six finalists and runners up for its ‘Visitor Advertising Design Challenge’ competition. Since the launch of the competition in February 2017, Ipex has received over 50 entries from individuals as far away as the USA, Australia, the Middle East, as well as the UK.

The competition was aimed at apprentices, students and designers working in the wider community and aged under 25. They were invited to develop and submit a design of a visitor promotion advertisement to be used in print and online in the run up to and during the event.

‘This competition has been a great opportunity for young designers to experience what it is like to submit work for a commercial brief and will help them to create a stronger portfolio to impress future employers,’ commented Rob Fisher, Ipex event director. ‘We want to engage with young people and help promote all aspects of the print industry as an exciting career choice.’

For the next stage of the competition the top three finalist’s designs are hosted on the Ipex website (http://www.ipex.org/design-challenge-finalists) where visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favourite design. The design includes a description from the designer explaining the inspiration behind their entry. The design that accumulates the most votes will be the overall winner.

The three runner up designs can also be viewed at http://www.ipex.org/design-challenge-runners-up

The six finalists’ designs will be published in the UK and international trade press over the coming months.
