bakergoodchild has chosen a Renz AP360 heavy duty punching system to add to its high quality service provision.
The company has chosen the versatile automatic punching machine for its calendar, book, corporate document, booklet, and brochure output, enabling them to add to their versatile services.
As a growing business the company has continuously upgraded and invested in its print, fulfilment, and product finishing machinery.
Brand manager Mohammed Pandhair explained, ‘As a mailing house we work with a lot of different types of industries, and have noticed a significant increase in mailings and print around major blue chip companies, publishers, marketing agencies as well as the education sector.’
He added, ‘We do a lot of print work for these clients and they have major projects that require binding, and therefore needed an industrial puncher which could handle the capacity of our clients print.’

The mail provider chose this particular piece of machinery as it will stop them having to outsource the punching and binding aspect of its finishing department. This new equipment will now enable them to have full control of the project and manage their customers’ campaigns accordingly.
The AP360 features a two finger paper pick up system, which can handle a range of mixed stock, fast die-changes, and has optional two part split dies for book and calendar work. There is also the additional option of a touch screen with job memory which aids set up, together with a paternoster feeding system for continuous production.
On choosing the Renz solution Mohammed added, ‘When reviewing other types of automated punches, it was the one that best suited our needs. We also have members of the team who are experienced in using the AP360 and other similar machines. It came highly recommended.’
The company had also looked at other machines but they all had different capabilities and functionalities.
The reason that bakergoodchild particularly liked the Renz AP360 was down to its advanced configuration, which helps with the setting up of projects, no matter how advanced or basic the requirement may be. This will be particularly useful, as from time to time they are often provided with an exceptional high quality paper by their clients to use, and this can sometimes cause issues on some machines. So, before any equipment or machinery purchases are made, a review is carried out by the company, ensuring that their intended purchase undergoes significant testing to see if it would be compatible with the different types of paper it is likely to use.
The impact on the business of the new Renz will be significant, as it will allow the company to manage projects in-house instead of outsourcing them. This means quality will not be compromised, which will be regarded by bakergoodchild as a significant return on investment.
Mohammed concluded, ‘Renz have been very helpful from the outset. Their customer service and after sales departments have been very helpful and we appreciate all the support that they have provided.’
