Claudio Lombardi, founder of Lombardi Converting Machinery, has been awarded with the ‘Pollicione d'Oro’ (Gold Big Thumb) for his advanced research and results in the field of label and and converting printing machines.
Claudio Lombardi began his career producing labelling and tag cutters – thousands of which have been installed around the world. Later, his company began to design and produce flexo narrow web machines.

In the motivation of the award, which is presented once a year by a jury composed of entrepreneurs, lecturers and journalists, he was awarded for the ability to design updated narrow web flexo machines to meet the ever changing demands of the converting world.With his constant presence at international fairs, like Labelexpo Europe, USA and Asia, Claudio is an ambassador of Italian high tech in the converting market and he contributed to make 'Made in Italy' well known worldwide, thanks to numerous installations in Europe, India and the Middle East, where his innovative Synchroline, Invicta and Flexoline devices continue to be appreciated by the graphics arts industry.
For over a decade, supported by his three children – Lorenzo (sales director), Massimo (sales director) and Nicola (marketing manager), Claudio has looked to the future by investing heavily in research and development.
