Willow Printing & Design will take delivery of a new Polar 78N Eco guillotine from Heidelberg UK in August. The purchase is part of an on-going programme of investment which follows the purchase of a new SRA3 digital press last year. The guillotine will increase downstream production capacity and speed up the cutting process.
The Newton-le-Willows based business offers a ‘personal yet professional service’ that offers a full in house service from pre-press through to finished product to customers both locally and nationally.

Willow Printing & Design prints not only onto paper and board but also onto textiles and ceramics. Using litho, digital, dye sublimation and wide format technology, it offers a full range of products for the commercial print market.
‘We are replacing an ageing French made 760 mm guillotine and we reviewed three machines before choosing the Polar,’ said Barry Kilshaw, owner and managing director. ‘We like the fact it is stable and robust and will hold its residual value. It will give us a leap in productivity and we like the material flow offered by the wider tables, the increased programmability and the faster cutting capacity.’
Willow Printing has had six Heidelberg machines since its foundation in 1978 and it knows that the engineering will be a good match to the Polar. ‘Heidelberg have been first rate, really professional,’ added Barry.
