Communisis has invested £1.6 million in the creation of a new facility at its Leeds processing site that will help clients manage their inbound customer communication channels.

The new ECM Connect platform can process millions of customer documents every year. It creates digital copies of paper communications that can be easily managed and stored within clients’ document management platforms. Once processed, the information is immediately transferred to a data centre and the original paper document is destroyed on site to ensure customer data is secure.

By ensuring that all the data from paper communication is available centrally, the system can automatically trigger personalised outbound customer communications through other channels like SMS and social media.

David Herridge, managing director of customer experience at Communisis, said: ‘Customer communications are evolving at an unprecedented pace, in particular the need for brands to become more agile with the growth of digital and mobile. In the new omni-channel world, customers expect the same brand experience – whether that be through social media, in a phone call or in print. It is our job to help our clients stay ahead of these challenges. This is a significant investment in our inbound communications capabilities that will help clients deliver more effective digital strategies and shape the future of their customer communications.
