Spiral Print increases business with PPB’s proBond

PPB’s aluminium composite material (ACM) proBond has ensured Cheshire based Spiral Print was ready to meet the many challenges of hoarding manufacture from estimate conversion through to print and final production.

Spiral Print is based in Macclesfield. It offers all round print options, from short run digital, to long run litho brochures or literature. Its wide format print services provide everything a customer could require from vinyl lettering, signage, and exhibition work to hoarding panels.

The company supplies many types of advertising and builders’ hoarding. Recently Spiral was commissioned to supply ground boards for the newly promoted Lincoln City Football Club. With over 50 panels it required a suitable and economical ACM sheet that printed and converted efficiently. Quality was also paramount to Spiral; it needed to produce the hoardings using materials that were reliable and resilient.

PPB recommended its range of proBond ACM and with its considerable knowledge of the industry Spiral knew it would be getting expert advice. Spiral printed directly onto the panels using its Jetrix wide format UV printer. It then laminated the face of the boards with anti-graffiti laminate for maximum impact and durability.

Jason Carpenter, production manager for Spiral Print, explained: ‘proBond aluminium composite has all the properties required including strength, a brighter white colour with excellent ink adhesion and at a highly competitive price. We previously had quality issues with our chosen ACM such as poor print and lack of adhesion to laminate. proBond has been a revelation to us in terms of value for money and outstanding quality. It has printed, converted and laminated without issue and the overall feel and look of the product is far superior to many alternative ACM’s on the market. What is more, because it is a value for money ACM, we have found our ‘hit rate’ from estimate to job conversion has been greatly improved as we are able to be much more competitive in terms of pricing.’

proBond is a relatively new addition to the PPB’s product portfolio and has been specifically developed to offer customers a genuine high quality sheet, whether it is for short term digital print projects, or high end corporate ID signage.
