Oh no, the Princess of Nova is in serious trouble! But, it is not what you think, she is not being held captive by an evil villain but, rather, she has been poisoned! The culprit? A failed love potion meant for her crush, which causes the princess to fall in love with... herself! We have all been there, right? Okay, well, maybe not!

She needs to find a cure, and fast. I mean, how is she supposed to rule a kingdom like that? As a result, the nation is given a quest, called The Wilde Hunt, to find the right ingredients for a cure.

Amongst the contestants is Samantha Kemi, just your average kind of girl with a special talent for mixing potions. It shouldn’t be too hard for Sam, especially as she comes from a family of alchemists, right? Not when she is up against the entire nation, plus her arch enemy Zain Aster, and to make matters worse, the ZoroAster company which Zain only hap- pens to be the heir to! Why do baddies always have so much power?

Her best friends, Anita and Arjun, will also be joining her in the quest, but will she work with or against them? More importantly, can she trust them?

Whatever her decision, Sam must travel through various locations and come face to face with death to find a mermaid’s pearl, a unicorn’s tail, and more. Not only must she locate the items, but she has to find them before anyone else. How on earth is she going to make it back in one piece?

If she wins, she will save the princess, but she will also save her parents’ reputations which has suffered quite a blow. In short, everyone will adore her. How- ever, if she loses, it will have all been for nothing and she will come home stinking of defeat.

As if the pressure wasn’t high enough, The Wilde Hunt is being covered by the news and spreading across social media like wild fire! If she fails or embarrasses herself, everyone will know about it for years to come. Does Sam have what it takes to succeed? And if so, how?

The Potion Diaries is written by Amy Alward, editor for Zoe ‘Zoella’ Sugg, and has been described as ‘The Hunger Games meets The Princess Diaries’. If you liked either franchise, then it is highly recommended that you check out this book. Sarah J Mass, author of Throne of Glass calls it, ‘Inventive, romantic, and down- right delightful’.

Don’t just take their word for it though, see for yourself! The Potion Diaries is out now.
